Lesson Learned #3

Today's lesson learned is: appreciate what you have.

Like, when you write a whining blog post about how hot it is and complain that you only have fans; then you lose power in the middle of the night, and wake up because you find yourself lying in a tepid pool of your own sweat. You then suddenly realize that fans are the most wonderful invention ever created and that you appreciate them more than you can say.

Thank you, fans. We love you.

I want to say: Thank you old people! For if we didn't have an elderly landlord living downstairs with a backup generator, he'd be in deep doo-doo if the power went out and it was this hot and he couldn't power his A/C. As a result--his generator keeps the *whole* house lit. Whew!

We are fans of fans. :-)

Let's hope that tonight's storms break the heat wave, but also that they arent strong enough to do us any damage. Fingers crossed, MN.

Feel free to take a ride down to beautiful LI where it is a tiny bit cooler, and our fans are still running! GRMYBMY

How do you spell relief? Believe it or not, I spell it "84 degrees." That's our projected high temp today with lots of sun. In any normal spring, this would be 3-4 degrees above normal and feel hot. After the four straight 94-100 degree days we've had, it's positively chilly.
